Wood’s metal, also sold as Lipowitz alloy, is the classic trick-spoon metal: a true eutectic, it melts all at once at about 70 °C, well below a fresh cup of tea. We sell it for low-temperature casting and workholding. It contains lead and cadmium, so keep it away from food and wash up after use. Nominal composition by weight: Pb 42%, Bi 40%, Sn 9%, Cd 9%. Melting point: about 70 °C.
