Privacy Policy

The short version

Periodic Tech is a small shop. We collect the information needed to take your order, ship it, and answer your messages. We do not sell your information, and we do not run third party advertising or tracking scripts on this site.

What we collect

• Account details. If you create an account, we store your email address and a hashed version of your password. We cannot see the password itself.
• Order details. When you buy something, we keep a record of what you ordered, the amounts paid, your email address, and the shipping name, address, and phone number you enter at checkout.
• Payment details.Card details are entered on Stripe's checkout page, not on our servers. Stripe passes us your shipping details and payment status. We never receive your full card number.
• Contact form messages. If you use the contact form, we store your name, email address, subject, message, and the IP address the message was sent from.
• Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure keeps standard access logs, which include IP addresses.

Cookies and browser storage

If you sign in, we set one cookie that keeps you signed in. That is the only cookie we set ourselves, and there are no advertising or analytics cookies on the site.

Your cart and the shipping details you type on the cart page are saved in your own browser's local storage so they survive a page reload. That data stays on your device until you check out or clear it.

How we use your information

We use this information to process and ship orders, to run your account, to reply to your messages, and to keep basic business records such as receipts. We send email about your account and your orders, for example an order confirmation, plus replies to messages you send us.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your information to anyone. It is shared only with the services we need to run the shop:

• Stripeprocesses payments and collects your card and shipping details at checkout. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to the information you give it.
• Our email provider, Private Email (privateemail.com), carries the transactional email we send, such as order confirmations and replies.
• Shipping carriers receive your name and address so they can deliver your package.
• Our hosting provider stores the site and its database.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, for example in response to a valid legal request.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep order records for as long as tax and accounting rules require. If you want a copy of the information we hold about you, or you want your account or contact messages deleted, email support@periodictech.com from the address on the account and we will handle it. We may need to keep records of completed orders even after an account is deleted.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
